Bryan and I spent 5 days in Tintagel and Cornwall. Tintagel is the ruins of the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. No remains of Camelot, believed to have been nearby. The setting is spectacular, no matter who lived there. Also went to Salisbury where his and Gwen's grave supposedly were.
Cornwall is rightfully known for pasties ( no, NOT pAsties) and wonderful clotted cream teas. We also saw several sites associated with one of my favorite authors, Daphne du Maurier. The day after we got back, Bryan went to Ireland overnight, and I went to York. The city still has a large portion of its medieval wall.

How utterly charming. It also reminds me of one of my favorite authors....Rosamunde Pilcher. You lucky lady you. I would love to visit there one day. To think of living there for as long you are would be a dream come true.
