Vival la France

Bryan and I spent four days in the Normandy area of France. It was stunning. The fall colors on the rolling hills, with the occasional chateau, were gorgeous. The D Day Beaches, and the American Cemetary were certainly moving. I didn't know that the cemetary is American soil.

The highlight for me was Mt. St. Michele. My first view from the distance was breathtaking. It is connected to the mainland by a roadway, that floods during high tide, making it an island for several hours a day. The streets are narrow and crowded, winding up to a medieval abbey at the top.

I also visted the Bayuex Tapestry, which is also pretty amazing.

  1. So did you ever think you'd have an opportunity like this in your lifetime? I've always wanted to go to France. (Bill....not so much) Are you going to make it to Paris before you come home? You have some amazing photos. Would love to paint some of your landscapes!! Very professional I must say!!
