Yesterday we toured 3 of the 4 Colleges to which our students are assigned. The 4th one is Christchurch, where some of Harry Potter is filmed, which we saw on our last trip. Three of the schools are very old and amazing. The 4th is 1960s ultra modern. It is also not centrally located.
We also had "elevenses" at a gorgeous, ritzy hotel,in the "Morse Bar" where Inspector Morse of the BBC series often drank. If you haven't seen them, they are available on Netflix, and are brilliant. Elevenses is coffee or tea and a sweet at about-surprise-11:00 AM. Ours was served with the most amazing shortbread ever.
Lunch was fish & chips @ a pub where the Inklings met for a short period of time, but better known for Inspector Morse drinking there. Bryan had a Hobgoblin ale (yuck), and I had my new favourite,a Pimms Cup. I'll have to count up how many posts refer to food or drink. I'll bet most.
Since Bryan has left me alone with the computer today, I'll take advantage of it.
You can never go wrong talking about food. :)
ReplyDeleteHave you driven yet? What is a Pimms Cup? It's already the 6th what have you been doing?
