We had a long,uncomfortable trip, followed by a snafu at immigration.
The program director at APU had neglected to give Bryan the appropriate letter, and the agent kept us waiting for about 35 agonizing minutes, whilst he and his colleagues debated whether to admit us.I was praying like crazy. We are still dealing with jet lag,but better today than yeasterday. Walked around and began to get a feel for the city. Tonight we had an adult libation at one of the pubs frequented by the Inklings.There are photos on the wall of Lewis & Tolkien, and a letter from Lewis to the pub owner. The weather has been very pleasant, but a little more humid than we are used to.

ReplyDeleteI spent the day with Billie, Genny, Jessie, and Bev. We took the Metro to Union Station and had lunch at the restaurant at Union Station. Then we headed to the library. It was a nice day, but NOT England. I've bought my ticket and I hope to see you in Nov. Enjoy England and the cool weather. It is still hot here.
